New Interviews posted (4/25/12): Author Interviews

The purpose of Sisters in Crime is to "combat discrimination against women in the mystery field, educate publishers and the general public as to inequities in the treatment of female authors, raise the level of awareness of their contribution to the field, and promote the professional advancement of women who write mysteries."

NEXT MEETING OF SAN JOAQUIN SISTERS IN CRIME

Saturday May 5, 2012

TWO SPECIAL LIBRARIES

At first glance a special library may resemble any other library until a closer look reveals just what makes it so special - a single, concentrated subject matter.

By focusing on one topic the librarian becomes very knowledgeable while developing the most comprehensive collection and information-based solutions.

Two special libraries (and their very special librarians!) will be highlighted on May 5. From the William O. Owen Medical Library at St. Agnes Medical Center we will have librarian Nancy Crossfield. Ms. Crossfield will tell us about the library and where we may find medical data using the Internet.

We will also hear from Sharon Borbon of the Fresno County Public Law Library. Ms. Borbon will share information about the law library and alternate sources for credible legal data.

Both speakers will describe how their libraries can be used as a source of information and inspiration.

Plan to join us!
